Terms of service

The agreement between you and fancy.fyi.

Effective May 4, 2026.

By using fancy.fyi you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not just accepted. If something here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it.

The service

fancy.fyi is an invitation and RSVP service. We provide the software, hosting, and delivery infrastructure that lets you create events, invite guests, and track responses. We may add or remove features over time. We will give signed-in users at least 14 days notice before removing a feature you actively rely on, where reasonably possible.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
• You are responsible for the events you create and the invitations you send. Only invite people who you have a reasonable basis to expect want to receive the message.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

• Send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, phishing attempts, or otherwise misleading communications.
• Harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate anyone.
• Distribute malware, viruses, or content that violates someone else’s rights (including intellectual property and privacy rights).
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours; bypass rate limits; or interfere with the operation of the service.
• Resell, sublicense, or repackage the service without our written agreement.
• Violate any applicable law.

If we believe in good faith that an account is being used in any of these ways, we may suspend or terminate it without prior notice.

Your content

You keep ownership of the events, invitations, photos, and text you create. By using the service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, transmit, and process that content solely as needed to operate the service for you. This license ends when you delete the content (subject to limited backups that expire on a normal retention schedule).

Paid tiers

If you upgrade to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge the payment method you provide for the recurring subscription fee or per-event unlock you selected. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law. If we materially change the price of a plan you are on, we will notify you at least 30 days before the new price takes effect.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, fail to pay, or if we are required to by law. On termination, your data will be deleted on the schedule described in our privacy policy.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee that messages will be delivered to any particular recipient or inbox; email and SMS delivery depends on third parties.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, fancy.fyi will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and (b) one hundred US dollars.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold fancy.fyi harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of someone else’s rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

Changes

If we change these terms in a material way, we will update the effective date above and notify signed-in users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date means you accept the change.
